Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Serving as Deputy to the Operating Line Compliance Manager (OLCM) for the HA Group
  • Regularly engaging with shoreside management and shipboard management regarding environmental operations, training and auditing requirements
  • Ensure that findings (including observations) from ECP audits or external audits such as class, flag, port state, public health or other inspections or audits are appropriately documented, tracked, and resolved, and that such resolutions are thoroughly documented in a format that can be readily audited
  • Ensure with the OLCM, the refinement, implementation and documentation of applicable Environmental GHESS procedures and other associated policies
  • Review, document and ensure investigations are launched when required for reports of environmental non-compliance or other observations reported by employees
  • Assist with implementation of the regular communication program to all employees regarding the ECP requirements
  • Monitor and assist the OLCM to ensure that all covered personnel are trained in accordance with ECP and company requirements. Providing subject Matter Expertise in Environmental training development
  • Monitor and ensure the implementation of ECP engineering requirements
  • Review the tracking and reporting of each vessel’s machinery space waste quantities and capacities
  • Improve and identify weaknesses in processes for environmental operations and waste management best practices across Operating Lines
