Description:

The Optical Network Migration Engineer will provide network planning & engineering expertise in support of a long-haul DWDM network migration project at Verizon. Roles & responsibilities may include but are not limited to: network inventory analysis, DWDM and SONET network design, MOP development, network cutover support, network Visio documentation updates

Required Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of DWDM and SONET networking.
  • Strong work history in optical network planning & design of wavelength services.
  • Experienced with optical power budgets, and various optical amplifiers.
  • Knowledge of Coriant and Infinera DWDM systems.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Verizon's TBS operational support system and other planning/engineering tools/processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Basic mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and quality of work.
