Job Description : 

The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) provides for the care, custody, and control of persons accused of crimes or convicted and sentenced to one year or less of jail time. The Department manages 11 inmate facilities, eight of which are located on Rikers Island. In addition, the Department operates two hospital Prison Wards (Bellevue and Elmhurst hospitals) and court holding facilities in each borough.

    • Analyze, design, implement, maintain and support QA Automation and Monitoring solutions for Information Technology Division.
    • Experienced in developing and maintaining automation functional testing using industry standard Microfocus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) aka QTP, and/or Selenium.
    • Proficiency in SQL, relational databases DB2 & SQL servers is required.
    • Understanding business requirements and technical specifications during test development and testing software releases against requirements /technical design.
    • Creating, editing and updating test plans and test cases ensuring use of appropriate test methodology, complete test coverage and full test documentation for all code to be tested.
    • Oversees QA tool implementations and/or upgrades, including continued support, documentation and training.
    • Executing test scripts/cases for releases or on-going maintenance and recording test results.
    • Reporting defects and providing development team with necessary defect documentation, re-testing fixes and recording results.
    • Responsible for the development and review of technical specifications for automation solutions.
    • Assuming responsibility for timely test cases completion established by the Manager.
    • Timely reporting of all critical milestones and slipping deadlines to the Manager.
    • Working on multiple projects and shifting the effort based on the timelines established by the Testing Manager.
  • Conducting peer reviews prior to test execution (proper test cases coverage, test cases documentation).
