Job Description
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Actively participates in determining the objective and scope of projects</li> <li>Applies predictive modeling, machine learning, and advanced statistical methods to design, develop, and implement data-driven solutions</li> <li>Utilizes an array of large data sources to identify appropriate data for analysis, uncover issues, determine potential uses, identify patterns, and prepare for analysis, presentation, and application</li> <li>Works independently to establish and execute plans to build, implement, and maintain predictive models; monitors and provides feedback on performance and recalibrates models as needed</li> <li>Collaborates with data management to develop and streamline data warehouses, databases, production data, and tools to build strategic datasets; establishes processes to evaluate accuracy of data</li> <li>Develop, introduce, and enforce advanced analytics practices across multiple disciplines and departments within Pekin Insurance</li> <li>Other responsibilities as required or assigned</li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: large;"><strong>Knowledge</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Extensive understanding and knowledge of advanced analytics, including statistics, simulation, optimization, etc. as well as machine learning techniques and quantitative disciplines (supervised/unsupervised learning, operations research, decision theory, etc.)</li> <li>Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely using simple business language to contribute to team and company success and advancement</li> </ul>
