Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Develops and implements policies and procedures for the uniform collection and management of computerized data produced both inside and outside of the organization. Maintains the integrity of the data infrastructure for all collected data, controls the dissemination of data for internal use, and provides support in the creation of required external reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Identify, create and oversee the implementation of policies, procedures and best practices uniformly used in the support, integrity and management of internal and external data collection and dissemination. Manage the accuracy, effectiveness and timeliness of the transfer of data and information.
  • Define and implement data specifications and collection parameters that ensure all data is uniformly collected, maintained and stored throughout the organization to optimize database performance. Ensure that data received from vendors is complete, tested for credibility and integrity, and captured and stored properly. Prepare credibility testing on data retrieved from Affinity systems and applications.
  • Create and maintain current documentation of all production databases, including schemas, procedures, and standards.
  • Support Affinity’s compliance with regulatory requirements for use and management of health care data through the implementation of processes, data collection and storage standards and documentation standards.
  • Create and maintain a Data Dictionary.
  • Work with development teams as database liaison providing smooth transitions to production environments and ensuring ongoing maintenance and support. Respond to customer-reported errors.
  • Report regularly on database quality to management; ensure data control and data integrity while identifying associated risks.
  • Enforce security and access policies and practices for database systems.
  • Enforce the use of appropriate practices for all database modifications, including the use of development and test databases, and change control tools and procedures.
  • Monitor and report status of all database, present associated data, observations, limitations, and recommendations to the Database Administrator.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data collection and integrity related issues, component limits, and ensure the integrity of all data structures.
  • Establish core report requirements, report templates, reporting standards, and developing core report queries as needed.
  • Work with internal departments to create and provide data necessary for STAT, MEDSII, MMCOR, QAAR and other external reports. Ensure complete accurate data needed for reporting to external entities.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or required.
