The focus of the data analyst position is to use data to drive progress towards District priority and goals. The data analyst will accomplish this by providing sound survey, strategic, analytic, and project management expertise to Offices within the district and helping set district standards for data processes and toolsets for analytics.
The Data Analyst will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
  • Facilitate relationships and support to other department specific data analysts
  • Ensure data quality and integrity across Offices
  • Establish and ensure adherence to a set of guiding principles for analytic practice
  • Act as a liaison to networks, central office, and ISBE
  • Support analytic project planning, design and implementation across a variety of topic areas
  • Compile, manipulate, and analyze data using appropriate statistical techniques
  • Communicate with broad spectrum of stakeholders at varying levels
  • Performs related duties as required
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Data Analyst must possess the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Relational Databases (SQL Server 2012 preferred)
  • Exceptional organizational, communication (oral and written), and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data quality assurance
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment, respond immediately to multiple constituencies and meet established deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team, with technical and non-technical personnel, and across departmental boundaries
  • Flexibility to meet changing departmental needs
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
