Job Description:

Role: Responsible for design, planning, and engineering of the Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), Telephony, Video Conferencing, Network Security systems and networking components. Lead network projects and actively participate in large scale corporate projects with a network component.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design network plans that accommodate the credit union’s requirements and future growth.

  2. Direct & perform the planning, recommending, and prototyping of state-of-the-art network technology and services.

  3. Design & oversee implementation of circuits and network equipment to include switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, network appliances and other supporting systems.

  4. Gauge effectiveness of existing networks; engineer designs for improving or further leveraging these networks.

  5. Advise leadership on cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems.

  6. Establish and maintain network standards, documentation and controls.

  7. Support network security and business continuity design.

  8. Collaborate with technical staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of networks.

  9. Provide leadership and consulting on network issues.

    Experience:

  • 10+ years progressive experience in design, engineering and installation of data communication networks with at least 3 years in a senior technical role.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the planning, design, and installation of networks.

  • Strong experience with network hardware and management systems.

  • Cisco Palo Alto experience required.
  • Strong familiarity with common network protocols. Experience working with virtualization and virtual network concepts.

  • Must have demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Must have excellent project management skills.
