Position Summary
The SQL DBA Developer is responsible for designing/configuring the functionality and the continuous improvement and support of the Student information System (SIS) including web and mobile applications that are used by MUIH to support the organization’s day-to-day operations.
As part of the role, the SQL DBA Developer will work with other team members and consultants in optimizing in-application SQL statements as necessary, and establishing best practices. Performs in-depth analyses on SIS problems, identifies root causes, and recommends solutions to resolve application malfunctions and prevent recurrence. Performs a variety of data warehouse related activities on an as needed basis. Those activities will include documenting such things as confirming that all data is moving correctly between SIS and Salesforce, resolving data inconsistencies, developing and documenting data flows, defining policies and procedures related to data flows, and acting as a subject matter expert around all data components within SIS. the SQL DBA Developer is responsible for the management of data and log files to ensure that they are stored separately, eliminate any instances of file or index fragmentation, and check for data corruption. The SQL DBA Developer is also responsible for troubleshooting data issues and helping the the SQL Dev/Report Writer and Developers better understanding the data structures and definitions.
