Job Description

Our company is an IT Consulting, Web/E-commerce Development, and Custom Software Development firm based in Mclean, VA. Our commercial domestic and international clients are looking for candidates with the following skill sets:

Candidates with Life Sciences, Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus. Our clients are looking for candidates with the following skills:

Work Authorization Status: H1B Visa, EAD, Green Card, US Citizen

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Act as a .NET developer for a product development scrum team
- Provide the customer with effective and efficient solutions, not merely stating problems
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills to interact with team members and clients on a daily basis
- Maintain and support existing client systems and applications
- As part of a team assist in the design and implementation of web applications, prototypes, and user interfaces
- Analyze client business requirements to translate needs into technical requirements
- Engage in critical problem solving
- Implement tasks in accordance with schedule
- Continuously improve skills, adapt emerging technologies, and apply best practices
- Participate in product delivery through the entire SDLC of analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and support
- Implement all aspects of application design which include high-performance design, coding, caching mechanisms, security, encryption, state management, error logging, debugging, scalability, code reviews, environment configuration, and testing
- Perform unit and system-level testing of applications
- Work with QA engineers to develop testing protocol to identify and correct defects
- Follow best-practice development standards established by Development Leads


SKILLS NEEDED:

- Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) for source control and project management is preferred 
- Commitment to high quality and good practices and standards, including object-oriented design, code refactoring, and code documentation 
- Strong critical thinking, operations and systems analysis, and problem solving skills
- Proactive, capable of making and meeting commitments, and the ability to execute brilliantly with an unwavering commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and on multiple tasks/initiatives with multiple deadlines
- Ability to adapt to new environments and assimilate information quickly
- Committed to learning the customer's business in order to ensure that the work products developed supports their mission.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience with Agile, test-driven development, and continuous integration process
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
- Strong understanding of design and architectural patterns
- Strong knowledge of .NET framework
- Proficient in C# and SQL
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud applications is preferred
- Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
- Laboratory experience is preferred
- Forensics background is preferred
- Enterprise Data Warehousing is preferred
- Proven track record of developing and maintain high performance and scalable applications
- Object-oriented design and programming experience
