This role will work primarily as part of a team that includes a Product Manager, Salesforce Developer and a Support team to meet the advocacy, fundraising, communications, and programmatic needs of the nationwide organization. They will regularly communicate with stakeholders who work across functions in other departments to ensure their needs are being met. The person reports to senior engineering management and can be based on-site, or work remotely. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hands-on Salesforce Administration, including:
  • Performing Salesforce administrative functions, such as creating and configuring users, custom objects, fields, reports, triggers, etc.
  • Developing and maintaining user roles, profiles, groups, and security settings
  • Debugging complex technical issues, and delivering appropriate immediate fixes & long-term solutions
  • Upholding defined business practices with high data quality and integrity standards
  • Solving problems autonomously - yet knowing when to escalate and to whom
  • Support functions, including:
  • Serving as tier 2 subject matter expert
  • Working with the support team to ensure high priority user needs are met
  • Updating and maintaining Salesforce system documentation
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex functional issues and user entry issues
  • Exhibiting strong customer empathy in identifying and building solutions to address user needs
  • Demonstrating excellent organizational and communication skills (written, spoken and presentation-forms)
  • Developing an understanding of specific ACLU and fundraising business processes
  • Development:
  • Performing declarative development through the creation of flows, processes, and validation rules
  • Implementing functional tests for security configurations and automated processes
  • Performing minor bug fixes and enhancements
  • Facilitating deployments of field, data, and user interface changes
  • Developing custom pages and functionality with Visualforce or Lightning web components
  • Solving problems and making independent decisions of crucial consequence, while considering organizational guidelines and strict confidentiality
  • Working both independently and as part of a team, while fostering a team-focused environment that encourages collaboration and peer support
  • Adapting to a constantly-changing work environment with a commitment to get up to speed quickly and a flexible mindset
  • Prioritizing work across multiple projects with high visibility

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a Salesforce Administration role
  • Current Salesforce Administrator Certification
  • A solid understanding of Salesforce's technical and functional capabilities, and interest in staying atop of Salesforce updates
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, workflows, process builder, validation rules, permissions, roles, reports, dashboards, and logical formulas
  • Experience with Data Loader or data integration
  • Experience with data analysis and report creation
  • Experience working with a support & training team and directly with end-users
  • Strong project management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with fundraising practices in non-profit organizations
  • Experience working in a Salesforce organization with over 100 users
  • Basic web development experience (HTML/CSS)
  • Familiarity with Visualforce pages and/or Lightning web components
  • Familiarity with Apex code and test classes
  • Familiarity executing SOQL queries
  • Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification
  • Experience working with NGO Connect and Salesforce.org / roundCorner
  • Experience with Gearset or other DevOps tools for Salesforce
  • Experience writing Apex code and test classes
  • Experience writing VisualForce pages and/or Lightning web components
  • Experience with Large Data Volume implementations in Salesforce
