Oracle PL/SQL Developer 

Immediate need

Location: McLean, VA area

Open for Contracts and Full-time*** 

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of related database development experience
  • Strong PL/SQL development experience including but not limited to the creation of packages, procedures, tables views, functions, etc.
  • Oracle database design and performance tuning
  • Seven years of experience in Database Star Schema and or Snow flake schema in First, Second and Third normal form
  • Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database tables structure for both transactional and warehouse data
  • Six years of experience in PL/SQL tuning including knowledge of Explain Plans AWR, ASH and TKPROF
  • Knowledge of oracle partitioning practices and data archival structures and processes
  • Knowledge of Oracle 10g, 11g and 12c with use of tools such as SQLDeveloper, TOAD and ERWIN
  • Experience with batch job process, ASP, VB script, and Windows
  • Experience with Java, JSP, and VB
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases
  • Experience with some of the modern relational databases
  • Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements
  • Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases
  • Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary
  • Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
  • Capable of troubleshooting common database issues
  • Familiar with tools that can aid with profiling server resource usage and optimizing it
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as {{Git / Mercurial / SVN}}
  • Must have the ability to work with the system analysts to translate business requirements to database structure as well has communicate the design to the front end development staff
  • Able to take ownership and lead development in multiple projects
  • Willing to coach and mentor junior developers
  • Works well in a team and able to successfully collaborate with others
  • Ability to communicate complex technical analysis to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong written and oral and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
Desired Skills and Qualifications
  • Recent experience with Weblogic-Nice to have
  • Oracle DBA experience-Preferred
  • Familiar with the Agile Process
  • Experience with GIT
  • Experience with government customers - Nice to have
