Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, or other technical degree. Master s degree strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years in-depth experience building and maintaining Hadoop clusters, supporting Data Science and Analytics teams5+ years of experience in managing/administering Linux server environments
  • Professional certification in Hortonworks or Cloudera platforms is a plus
  • Hand-on experience developing in Python is a plus
  • Responsibilities:
    • Design, deploy, and maintain Big Data environments using technologies in the Hadoop Ecosystem from the ground up. Including cluster sizing, installation, configuration, testing, service allocation and security setup.
    • Cluster monitoring, day-to-day troubleshooting and performance tuning to maintain service levels.
    • Work with Data Engineers, Developers, and other team members to evaluate solutions to integrate diverse datasets.
    • Develop, publish and maintain infrastructure documentation on Confluence including workflows, dataflow diagram, integration schemas, interoperability relationships, etc.
    • Work as a key person for vendor escalation and troubleshooting issues with other departments (IT, Network Engineering, etc.).
    • Assist in the design, code, test and debug multiple ETL integration interfaces of varying size and complexity.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or required by the situation and circumstances.
