Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with researchers to examine economic burden-of-illness, treatment patterns, medication use, and clinical outcomes using healthcare claims/electronic medical record (EMR) datasets (e.g., MarketScan Commercial Claims and Encounters database, MedMining, PharMetrics, Medicare and Medicaid, SEER-Medicare Linked Database, Clinical Practice Research Datalink, Medical Data Vision)
  • With supervision, write, develop, and update SAS programs to:
    • Organize data and construct analytic datasets from complex data sources
    • Conduct data analyses according to project-specified protocols within agreed timelines and budgets
    • Synthesize results and produce output such as reports, tables and figures (as driven by project-specific needs)
  • Assist staff with the preparation of analytic results in the form of client reports, journal manuscripts, and abstracts/posters for professional meetings
  • Review SAS code and output developed by other staff, ensure it meets specified requirements, and produces accurate results
  • Develop novel approaches to enhance programming efficiency (e.g., SAS macros to automate tasks)
  • Respond to requests from staff for analytic support
