Senior Application Developer is a critical individual contributor role reporting to the Manager, IT Applications Management and Planning. This individual will be a member of the IT Applications Organization responsible for design, development and implementation of Health Plan applications to solve business objectives and support end user needs in Provider and Care Management area.
Senior Application Developer will combine a deep understanding of HIPAA EDI transactions preferably EDI 274, PL/SQL and ETL technologies, Healthcare domain, best practices to deliver project initiatives and accomplish business operations. In this role, you will collaborate with business analysts, system analysts, peer developers, review committee leaders, testers, release managers to understand the business requirement and develop technical solutions. This individual has extensive knowledge in Informatica, PL/SQL and Java. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work with internal and external stakeholders in a team environment.
Assess the high-level requirements and provide IT estimation working with teams involved
Analyze business requirements and user specifications and creates or modifies detailed technical designs to ensure adherence to existing patterns and standards
Facilitate meetings to review design and secure approvals from internal and external stakeholders
Develops user interfaces and application programs using the technical specifications and design documents provided Tests, debugs, and maintains code according to the technical specifications for one or many projects primarily in Provider area.
Ability to work across 2-3 technology platforms or stacks such as PL/SQL, Informatica and Java
Ability to work on 2 or more moderately complex projects simultaneously
Ability to troubleshoot and debug applications that were developed by others
May coordinate technical resources across multiple teams
Provides knowledge transfer to back-up resource(s) and supporting team(s)
Participate in Solution Design review sessions, peer review, etc.
Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
5+ years of experience in a developer role, developing Health Plan business applications.
3+ years of experience performing complex business analysis and/or technology Healthcare operations such as EDI 274 submission.
Proficiency in Informatica/ETL technologies, JAVA, Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint and Visio.
Experience with query building using PL/SQL, and/or other technical analysis tools.
Effective Verbal and written Communication with peers, more senior level IT personnel, and business customers.
Bachelor s degree in Health Care Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
