Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance tools used by Frontier using the latest technological practices
  • Learn and maintain an in-depth understand of the Frontier application stack
  • Architect, design, and build applications utilizing modern concepts and technologies
  • Execute the full software development life cycle (SDLC) following an Agile (Kanban) process.
  • Create proof of concepts to validate and drive design decisions for network automation
  • Implement new and modify existing integrations to Frontier’s network to automate provisioning, designing and monitoring each piece of equipment

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years’ related experience, Experience developing in a scripting language (PERL, PHP, Python) required.
  • Experience in object-oriented programming languages, data-structures, algorithms and concepts
  • Understanding of relational databases and Object Relational Mapping (ORM) technologies and applications.
  • Proficiency in software engineering tools used to author, troubleshoot and administer applications and its code, such as code editors, version control software and continuous integration pipelines
  • Excellent team player, eager to learn from others, and to share skills with colleagues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to investigate and analyze complex technical information and to formulate and communicate conclusions effectively.
  • Understanding of Agile concepts such as product backlog management, ceremonies, team roles
  • Ability to adapt quickly to learn and support new systems and applications.
  • Strong understanding of web service architectures such as REST
  • Knowledge of Linux administration
  • Proficient with HTML, JavaScript and CSS

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Telecommunications or related industry that relies on complex interactions between software and network elements.
  • Advanced knowledge of Full Stack Python Development
  • Advanced knowledge of Docker and container orchestration platforms
  • Proficient with databases, Informix, DB2, MS-SQL and strong SQL knowledge.
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of Layer 2 / Layer 3 data networking technologies and TCP/IP
  • Familiarity with basic TDM concepts and Telephony networking
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Jira, Confluence
