Job Description

o Database technical design, storage configuration, space management, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, troubleshooting

o Development and maintenance of integrated databases and technical assistance in the design of new systems and/or modifications to existing systems including data modeling

o Database programming and the use of stored procedures, triggers, or similar development approaches

o Monitor performance and provide ongoing tuning of databases

o Install new database versions, upgrades and patches. Coordinate with vendors as needed

o Support for development, test and production environments

o Develop and maintain database administration procedures and operations to optimize database availability

o Experience in investigating, analyzing and modeling corporate data, including corporate databases, application systems and associated interfaces. Also ensure the appropriate design, configuration, integration, and installation of database management system applications.

o Assist with impact analysis of changes to database objects

Required skills and experience in one or several of the following areas:

o Oracle, PL/SQL, TOAD, Erwin, SQL Server, MSSQL, DB2, IDMS

o Unix, Linux, AIX, Windows

o Mainframe and Midrange operating systems

o Specific skills, as applicable, depending on a particular build such as Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM, Oracle DataGuard, etc.
